FOOTSTOOL MEMBER CARE RETREAT
Cambodia

Jun 1-5, 2026
Bayon era hotel, siem reap

We’re excited to invite you to the first South East Asia Member Care Retreat.

The Member Care Retreat is a time for those serving cross-culturally in Asia to rest, reflect, and be rejuvenated alongside others who are also serving. Our desire is to provide spiritual, emotional, and physical care for all attendees so that they may return to their fields renewed and refreshed.

Over four nights and five days, we will gather intentionally—creating room to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with God and with one another. Through shared meals, guided sessions, personal reflection, and a special outing to Angkor Wat, we desire this retreat to be both restorative and deeply meaningful.

We believe caring for those who serve is not optional—it is essential.
It is our honor to host this first MCR in South East Asia together.

The retreat is free of charge to those serving in Asia, but spaces are limited.

FAQ

Is the retreat really free?

Yes! We cover retreat accommodations, the outing to Angkor Wat, and all meals.

Why do I need to pay a deposit?

Previously there have been last-minute cancellations that have caused financial inconveniences to Footstool and prevented other applicants from attending. Therefore, the retreat itself is free, but to confirm your spot, we kindly ask for a registration fee. (Please note that this fee is non-refundable).

Is there childcare?

There is a complete children’s program with songs, games, crafts, and lessons for ages 3-12, a complete teen program for ages 13-18, and child care for infants through 2 years old. Child care is available during all sessions and during free time.

What are the accommodations like?

The retreat will be held in Siem Reap, Cambodia, at Bayon Era Hotel. The hotel features a swimming pool, and all meals and light refreshments during the retreat will be provided on-site. The venue is conveniently located approximately 45 minutes from Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport (SAI).

Single participants may be asked to share a room with another single participant of the same gender. We will do our best to assign rooms according to attendance type and individual needs. However, room assignments may not always match personal preferences, and we kindly ask for your understanding and flexibility in advance.

For more detailed information about the venue, please visit:
https://bayonera.com/

Who can attend the retreat?

The retreat is for English-speaking cross-cultural workers serving in Asia.

Why am I being asked to fill out an application to attend the retreat?

We have instituted an application process for the retreat to ensure that we can maintain the safety and security of all retreat attendees.

What is the daily schedule like?

The daily schedule consists of morning worship and a speaker session followed by lunch, free time in which you can choose from the available activities, dinner, and an evening worship and speaker session.

My financial situation prevents me from attending the retreat. Do you provide financial assistance for transportation costs?

Yes. However, Travel Assistance Fund is budgeted per retreat, so funding is limited. Financial assistance amounts vary and are determined on a case-by-case basis, based on need and availability of funds. All applications for financial assistance will be reviewed and carefully considered. Be advised that applying for travel assistance does not guarantee it will be granted. You must first apply for the retreat in order to apply for travel assistance. The Travel Assistance Fund application will be on the final registration form.

Will there be transportation from the airport to the retreat site?

More information on transportation will be posted shortly.
