FOOTSTOOL MEMBER CARE RETREAT
JANUARY 27TH-30TH, 2021
(Korean Standard Time)
Join us this year for our first ever online retreat!
Footstool is offering our 5th Annual Member Care Retreat virtually on January 27th- January 30th, 2021 (KST).
The Member Care Retreat is a time for those serving cross culturally in Asia to rest, reflect and be rejuvenated alongside others who are also serving. Our desire is to provide spiritual and emotional care for all attendees so that they may experience renewal and refreshment.
This year, due to these unprecedented times, we are offering our retreat virtually. While we are unable to gather in person, we always need time and space to process with God and fellowship with others, perhaps this year more than ever. We hope you will join us virtually from wherever you are in the world to retreat right where you are!
Frequently Asked Questions:
Who can attend the retreat?
The retreat is for English speaking cross-cultural workers who have been serving in the 10/40 window.
I am not currently in my country of service. Can I still attend?
Yes! Due to Covid-19 and related factors, we realize many fieldworkers have been relocated outside of the 10/40 window temporarily. If this is the case for you, you are still welcome to attend.
Do I need to be in a certain time zone?
No, you do not. We are working to structure the live retreat services to accommodate a variety of different time zones.
Why do I need to pay a registration fee this year?
In order to provide quality services this year, even virtually, there will be a registration fee of $20 per unit (more info will be provided during the final registration form once accepted to attend).
Will there be Children or Youth Ministry services this year?
Unfortunately, this year's retreat will only be available for adults as we are unable to provide virtual content for Youth and Children's Ministry.
Will there be free time activities this year?
Yes, but they will be limited to activities we can do virtually. Also, you will need to keep the time differences in mind and plan accordingly to be able to join them live, Korean Standard Time.
How do you suggest I experience the retreat?
Ideally, we suggest you clear some space on your calendar for January 27th- 30th (KST) to watch the session videos, participate in speaker Q&As, free time activities and to also spend quiet Sabbath time in prayer and in the Word.
I can’t take time off right now. Will I still be able to get a lot out of the retreat?
We know everyone’s schedule is different and you may only have a few hours here and there to participate. That’s okay, too! The special services and Q&A chats will be only available during the scheduled times January 27th-30th but the videos will be available until November 2021.
Do I need anything?
1. We’ll send you the Journal Guide before the retreat. If you’re a pen and paper kind of person, you’ll want to print this out beforehand.
2. You’ll need to be in a location that has internet access to watch the videos. We are using Vimeo for the session videos and Zoom for all of our live events.
3. Anything else is up to you and what you plan for your own personal refreshment time. We’ll send you our creative suggestions list in time for you to get anything you may need.
What security measures is Footstool taking?
We will use Vimeo for all pre-recorded sessions, which requires a password to access. All live sessions and one-on-one appointments will be done through Zoom. We have done research on the security of Zoom, because we know how important this is for some of our participants. Necessary precautions will be taken to give you the most secure experience. We will be limiting which global data centers Zoom can route through, utilizing the waiting room screening feature, monitoring the participants signed into the sessions, and ensuring each session has a host with full host controls. For added personal security, you can choose to turn your camera off during the sessions.
