Footstool is offering our 2nd Annual Member Care Retreat January 17-20, 2018 at Somang Retreat Center located outside of Seoul. The Member Care Retreat is a time for those serving cross culturally in Asia to rest, reflect and be rejuvenated alongside others who are also serving. Our desire is to provide spiritual, emotional and physical care for all attendees so that they may return to their fields renewed and refreshed.

-Is the retreat really free?
Yes! Your only expense is your transportation to/from Incheon airport in Seoul. Once you arrive we cover all transportation expenses to retreat site, retreat accommodations and all meals.
-How do I get to/from the retreat center?
A shuttle bus to the retreat center will leave from Incheon Int’l Airport promptly at 1 pm on Jan. 17. After the retreat is over, two shuttle buses will leave from the retreat center after lunch at 1 pm on Jan. 20-- one to Incheon Int’l Airport, the other to Seoul Station. For those who will be in Seoul before/after the retreat, there will be a shuttle bus for staff and volunteers leaving from Jubilee Church (https://www.jubileeseoul.com/find-us/) at 1 pm on Jan 17 and returning on the afternoon of Jan. 20. Reserve seat(s) for bus transportation to/from the retreat center by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
-Is there childcare?
There is a complete children’s program with songs, games, crafts and lessons for ages 3-12, a complete teen program for ages 13-18, and child care for infants through 2 years old. Child care is available during all sessions and during free time.
-What are the accommodations like?
The retreat is held at a retreat center outside of Seoul. Families will stay in private rooms with their own bathrooms and singles stay in shared rooms of 3-4 people with bathrooms. The rooms offer floor sleeping on mats. Limited beds are available.
-Who can attend the retreat?
The retreat is for all English speaking cross-cultural workers serving in the 10/40 window.
-What is the daily schedule like?
The daily schedule consists of morning worship and a speaker session followed by lunch, free time in which you can choose from the available activities, dinner, and an evening worship and speaker session.
-What activities are available?
Speaker sessions, counseling, medical care, prayer ministry, haircuts, manicures and pedicures, chiropractor, massage therapy, SAT prep for students, art therapy and family photos.
-What is included in the medical exam?
A full body medical checkup is available for those who are interested. The medical checkup will be offered the day before the retreat (January 16th, 2018) at Samsung Hospital in Seoul. Participants will need to arrange their transportation to the hospital but will be guided by Footstool volunteers upon arrival. The cost of the exam is 150,000 won (half of the 300,000 won cost is covered by Footstool). The medical exam includes blood work, urine analysis, ECG, chest x-ray and a consultation with the doctor. Follow up tests will be available if needed. You must register for the medical exam by December 15, 2017.
